President's Message

In a world undergoing constant transformation, where technologies and ideas are transforming at an accelerated pace, lifelong learning (LLL) has become an essential key to both individual and collective progress.
To learn continuously is to remain in control of one’s destiny — to adapt, to innovate, and to contribute to the development of one’s community.

Learning is no longer confined to school or the early years of life. It is built day by day, through experience, curiosity, sharing, and openness to others. It permeates every dimension of our existence — at work, at home, and within our societies — and calls for the creation of environments where knowledge becomes a source of empowerment and dignity.

For adults, LLL today represents a strategic opportunity. In a constantly changing labor market, it is imperative to create spaces and programs that foster reskilling, upskilling, and personal fulfillment. Continuous learning enables everyone to remain competitive, confident, and fully integrated into society.

It is in this spirit, and in accordance with the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, that the African Foundation for Lifelong Learning (AF3L) was established in February 2024.
Our mission is clear: to sustainably strengthen learning systems across Africa by supporting countries in the development, implementation, and monitoring of their LLL policies.

Through capacity building, knowledge and innovation sharing, networking, and partnership mobilization, the Foundation acts as a catalyst for change.
Our areas of action cover the entire educational spectrum — formal, non-formal, informal, and digital — with the ambition of making learning a real and accessible right for all.

The AF3L invites all African stakeholders, international organizations, Moroccan institutions, universities, researchers, and experts to join forces in building a learning, inclusive, and prosperous Africa.

Our vision is that of a continent where every African — regardless of age, language, or place of residence — can learn, grow, and contribute to a better future.
